About Xenos and Proud

This is a small blog about my Warhammer 40,000 hobby. I will try to concentrate on the tactics behind the general game and my Xenos armies but there will be the odd post about random stuff.

About Me

Xenos and Proud is an 18 year old from Scotland who has been playing 40K for the last 4 years. He loves the 'under-dog' xenos armies, namely his Tyranid Gorgon splinter fleet, his Saim-Hann windrider host, his Tau Vleastean Hunter-cadre and the newest addition, the Shadowfax Corsairs. Although his tactics are mostly 'borrowed', his painting skills still 'developing' and his luck becoming evermore 'ridiculous' he continues to play, paint and roll in the hope that one day things will get better.

Island of Blood

So everyone, a few days ago I got a long awaited Island of Blood box set in the post. I immediately tore it open and got sorting. I was splitting it with my friend so seperated the High Elves from the Skaven but found that all the models and arms and such are on the same sprue! It was hell to get apart!

But I persevered and handed over the bits but with the wrong bases, horizontal not diagonal! Once I realised I quickly gave my friend the right bases but he had already glued the wrong bases on. 'Facepalm'

Oh well. I have now ordered some more bases for the other 20 clanrats along with some movement trays. It will all be ok.

Anyway I also made a list, aiming to make a 2000 point Skryre list:

Hero
Warlock Engineer
Level 1

Chieftain
Battle Standard Bearer

Core
20 Clanrats
Spears
Shields
Standard Bearer
Musician
Clawleader
Poisoned Wind Mortar

20 Clanrats
Shields
Standard Bearer
Musician
Clawleader
Warpfire Thrower

500

So good start.
