This is a small blog about my Warhammer 40,000 hobby. I will try to concentrate on the tactics behind the general game and my Xenos armies but there will be the odd post about random stuff.

Xenos and Proud is an 18 year old from Scotland who has been playing 40K for the last 4 years. He loves the 'under-dog' xenos armies, namely his Tyranid Gorgon splinter fleet, his Saim-Hann windrider host, his Tau Vleastean Hunter-cadre and the newest addition, the Shadowfax Corsairs. Although his tactics are mostly 'borrowed', his painting skills still 'developing' and his luck becoming evermore 'ridiculous' he continues to play, paint and roll in the hope that one day things will get better.

The Vypers are Done!

I finally finished the three Vypers I showed a few days ago. They are really nice models and are amazing in games, especially against marines.

Here's some pictures:

Individual one. The highlights are not that harsh in real life.

Here's what I did:

Completed the highlights (sunburst yellow).
Applied the Saim-Hann transfers.
Painted the blue glass, Star Cannon coil thingy and the gunners helmet (Mordian Blue then Enchanted Blue).
Carefully painted the black stripes.

What are your thoughts? Anything to improve upon?

    This is a solid paint job.You do need to work highlighting but this beyond about 80% of warhammer players out there. I like them. good color choices.

    A side note, try to photograph your models using natural light, light outside or by a window. It produces much better results.

    Thanks for the compliment OSH.

    I have realised that the highlighting is a bit off but it is the same as the rest of my army and I would have to paint the whole lot again to change it.

    Also I think it makes them unique to me with the odd highlights which I do by basically dry-brushing orange then a little yellow. My friend said it makes them look like they are moving.

    I will get some better pictures up soon with them in natural light and will post the rest of my finished Eldar while I'm at it.

    Hopefully it will show them off more accurately to what they look like in real life.

    P.S. The colour scheme is just the Saim-Hann but with brighter highlights (I went to yellow) and the blue on the glass, helmets and such is used as a contrasting colour instead of white.
